CTM was incorporated in 1976 and served southwest OEM’s with custom 50/60Hz laminated transformers.  Through the ’80’s and 90’s we expanded our territories throughout the US and began to specialize in higher frequency switching transformers and inductors; our primary markets were medical electronics, high power telecom, professional audio, and commercial products. 

In 2000 we opened a production facility in Mexico where smaller size switching power magnetic products are produced in volume.  Around 2004, we patented our THISS Technology® filter inductor product line for 3 phase high power LC and LCL filters for the energy industry.  In this same year; CTM Magnetics, Inc. moved into our new 2 acre site with a 20,000 sq. foot plant to support new energy markets. 

The benefits our patented THISS Technology® filter inductors can offer to large power users for reducing size, weight, and increasing efficiency have been driving the growth of our company since 2004.  CTM invested in 3D CAD personnel and software in 2005 in order to offer complete filter assemblies and filter cabinets.  We developed and patented a new liquid cooled version of our THISS Technology® filter inductors to offer the market in 2006. 

CTM now offers complete LCL and LC filter design and system integration for cabinets, cooling systems, and packaging.  We ship our products worldwide and are supplying the largest electronics companies in the world with state of the art technology to improve their system performance and reliability.  We are working on new inventions all the time to reduce size, weight and cost and increase system efficiency for the worldwide energy markets; so stay tuned for exciting new THISS Technology® products from CTM Magnetics, Inc!

In July 2004, we moved into our newly purchased 20,000 square foot facility in Tempe, AZ. We have nearly 2 acres of fenced yard for expansion, our own rail spur to ship via rail car, and ample room for our new equipment and personnel. Our new MRP system operates using shop travelers which do our labor reporting and manage our material requirements. The system is fully integrated with Accounting, Sales, and Mfg. to enable CTM to give the highest level of customer service to our customers while reducing our costs to operate our business. We also utilize 2 Voltech AT 3600 computer transformer testing machines which can perform 40 different tests in 5 seconds on each unit. These machines test 100% of our products where applicable. We currently operate a single shift 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Our facility in Mexico is just across the border from Douglas, AZ. The identical MRP systems and controls are in place in Mexico and the identical Voltech AT 3600 testing equipment is used for consistency between facilities. Our labor force is very stable compared to other Mexican facilities. The plant is 10,000 square feet and operates on a single shift 5 days a week, 10 hours per day.
